Leash Guide
Leash Guide
When choosing a lead, it is important to check its breaking load.
The breaking load indicates the maximum load the lead can withstand before it breaks.
For dog owners, however, Safe Load is the most relevant value. Safe Load indicates the weight the lead can withstand during normal use.
Safe Load can be calculated in different ways, but a safe and established method is to calculate 1/10 of the breaking load.
Example:
Breaking load: 400 kg
Safe Load: 40 kg
This means that the leash is suitable for dogs up to approximately 40 kg.
⚠️ Please note: No leash is indestructible. Strong jerks or sudden lunges at high speed can create loads that exceed the Safe Load.
